Volunteer opportunities available:
Clerical/Administrative - The duties of the clerical volunteer opportunities include sending emails to supporters and donors, making phone calls, and assisting board members with development and program. We are looking for someone with organizational skills, an outgoing personality, and experience with Microsoft Office.
Event Volunteers - The duties of our event volunteers will be to assist in the coordination, planning, set-up, and clean-up of all Troubled Movement events. Whether you are an attendee greeter or parking attendant, we would love to have you share your time with us.
Travel Volunteers - The duties of our travel volunteers will be to attend speaking engagements or events not hosted by The Troubled Movement. We will need someone to transport items, assist with set-up, engage with the audience, run our vendor table, and more. Come travel with us as we reach the teens and young adults of the community.

The Troubled Movement, Inc. is a Houston, Texas born 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We rely on generous contributions and occasional grants in order to fund our programs and events. I hope that you are interested in our efforts to show our admiration, support, and respect to the teens and young adults involved now and in the future of The Troubled Movement. Depression, lack of confidence, anxiety, and stress can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle and impulsive decisions, troubled decisions. We want to lend a helping hand to prevent or heal these feelings.
With your help we are able to give these teens and young adults just what they need to educate them on life and its difficulties, especially as young people. Your sponsorship will be used to provide these boys and girls with the perseverance they need with our events and activities.
Ø “Lights, Camera, Action!”: A step and repeat backdrop, red carpet, and props will be provided to the participants to take memorable pictures. The pictures will be provided to each person attending the event.
Ø “Gift Bags”: At all of our events, each attendee will receive a glam bag filled with trinkets, journals, promotional materials provided by your business/organization, a free copy of the memoir, Troubled, by Maranda Evans, and many other essential and educational items our teens and young adults need.
Ø “Pick-A-Prize”: Raffle drawings and auctions will be conducted for a chance to win gift cards, books, make-up, art and more.

As the Volunteer Coordinator of The Troubled Movement you will be our direct liaison between our committee members, executive board, and volunteers. We are starting this off as a internship position and looking to make it permanent.

• Assist with scheduling and tracking volunteers and maintain communications between the volunteer team and TTM as directed by Program Committee or other designee.

Marketing & Communications Intern
Develop and implement effective marketing tools/strategies to promote events hosted by The Troubled Movement, Inc. as well as our six programs. Enhance current and new marketing materials to develop a brand through collaboration with the Vice President and Head of the Marketing & Communications Committee. This is an excellent position for creative individuals with an interest in marketing or advertising careers.
Responsibilities May Include
Preparing appropriate presentations as needed for community and board presentations.
Keeping information current on social media and other internet sites.
Create and send monthly newsletter emails
Creating printable and electronic materials for program promotion and community education.
Coordinating table displays at events.
Promoting involvement in the Houston community.
Developing materials for fundraising efforts.
Conducting presentations to community groups, businesses and youth groups/schools.
Pursuing community awareness opportunities.
Must have Marketing coursework and knowledgeable with social media. Must be professional and passionate about working with the community. Must have transportation and be available on weekends.

Grant Research intern
Do you love research? Do you love helping others? Are you studying finance, accounting, or management? The Troubled Movement, Inc. has an opportunity for you!
The Troubled Movement is looking for an organized and research-oriented individual to help locate and create a listing of grant opportunities for our non-profit organization. We have multiple programs that focus on the enrichment of teens, young adults, and victims of mental illness and abuse. We are asking that someone discover grants that cater to small organizations, community development, youth, victim services, projects, programs, building funding, and events.
Computer research and Microsoft Office skills, good written communication skills and a positive attitude are needed for this position.
Are you a research or non-profit major? Are you a retiree with access to a computer? This internship opportunity will look great on your resume as well as your ability to help a growing non-profit organization.
If possible, this job may also include fundraising ideas research.
A minimum of 5-10 hours a week will be required to obtain this position. Your work will be evaluated by the President and Treasurer of this organization.
