the dave mcmahon entrepreneurship program

Thank you to the Collective Action For Youth Initiative and Program for giving The Troubled Movement a chance to receive a grant that will help us in our Entrepreneurship for Youth mission under the Dave McMahon Entrepreneurship Fund.

Here's a word from our TTM Family on how they believe organizations like TTM can help youth become entrepreneurs.

“passing the torch” and creating youth entreprenuers

The Dave McMahon Entrepreneurship Program (DMEP) will be used to assist youth entrepreneurs that are determined to follow their dreams and start their own business, organization, or brand. As an entrepreneur himself and #1 supporter of TTM, we would like to show appreciation to Mr. McMahon by “passing the torch” of giving to our youth as he gave to us.

THE COMMUNITY YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROJECT (CYEP)

The objective of this project is to pour into our youth the same knowledge, funding, and love that was given to our President by Dave McMahon. Without him, we would not be here to help the youth of our community. The goal of this project is to create as many youth entrepreneurs as possible. We want to give them the chance and knowledge a lot of our leaders didn’t have. We measure this program according to each youth and business. What do they need? What are their goals? What is their marketing plan? We’ve had 100% success on the businesses we have helped get started and we continue to watch them grow everyday.

This project will serve youth and young adults (ages 13-21) both inside and outside of The Troubled Movement organization. Precedence will be given to youth that are already signed up with TTM. Youth outside of TTM will go through a nomination, interview, and pitch process. Youth/businesses will be chosen and selected through a panel decision. They will also be mentored and provided resources from TTM leadership, current adult entrepreneurs in the Houston community, and young adult business owners that we currently assist.

Meet the two winners of our Community Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, Zacchaeus Henry, age 18, CEO of Exclusive Services, Exclusive Outlook, and Exclusive Fadez and Carolelois Trotter, age 21, CEO of Belle Fabuluxe Beauty.

The Troubled Movement, Inc. would like to thank the Collective Action for Youth (C4YM) for funding this project. We look forward to continue working with them to help further the youth of our community.
